Recruiting and Retaining Members

  • National Level Plan
The national office will primarily focus on recruitment. We have the comprehensive database, the resources, and tools for thorough prospecting. We also have he funds for mailings, printing and the materials needed to reach prospects that local units do not have.

  • Unit Level Plan
Units are best positioned to primarily focus on retention. They can develop the personal connections with individuals, working with them on a local level regarding issues that effect them. Local Units can have the personal touch that a National office cannot.
    Step-by-Step Guide

  • Association Ambassador Program
This new program is designed to support and enhance the local levels efforts to retain members. Ambassadors encourage new members to get involved, ask questions and see that they find a place within the organization.

  • Membership Materials
All New Member materials have been created to acquaint members with the resources, tools and services the National SAF provides. These are sent when someone joins. These are customized based on whether the new member is a student or professional.

New materials are also being supplied to Units via Membership Kits which includes samples of what new members receive as well as what resources the local Units can take advantage of. These kits are specific to units versus an Student Units.

  • Unit Resource Services
A series of new Unit resources will become available to help Units better welcome and retain new members but also communicate with existing members. These tools can also help the Unit function more smoothly and have an improved presence on the local level.

  • Employer Membership Campaign
The National office will begin a campaign to increase membership from organizations with larger staffs. The program is designed to include more employees from companies and organizations that have 10 or more employees.
